As a composite recording of plates being smashed repeatedly, bottom’s up! – sound installation – explores what Allen Kaprow posited as the ‘indistinct’ line between art and life (Kaprow 1966). Examining the impact and strength of a single, “commonplace” – albeit irksome and raucous – sound in an unprecedented, yet not altogether unforeseen environment.
