no one wanted Grannies crockery (2014)
Central Gallery, Art Department, University of Reading
Original duration (Performance): 51.23 minutes
This performance-based artwork – no one wanted Grannies crockery – examines the impact of a single, unvarying action: the dropping of a plate. This recurrent act explores the disparate form of demolition and the routine character of repair. Questioning the quality of current labour, testing the base attention span of the gallery-goer and the creation of an artwork, protracted, embarrassing and questionably destructive.
